Did you know?

• Volunteers get to see shows for free
• Volunteer opportunities involve all departments of the theatre
• You may use your volunteer work as a reference on your resume
• If your goal is to work in theatre, volunteering is a great way to get your foot in the door
• If your volunteer shift falls on a Friday or Saturday evening and you wish to attend our club night immediately following the show, volunteers are welcome to do so free of charge. Club nights are 19+ events. Proper ID is required.
• Buddies wouldn’t be Buddies without volunteers!

Volunteer FAQ

Volunteers assist in all areas of Front of House. This usually includes handing out/stuffing programs, collecting tickets and directing patrons around the theatre.

How do I become a Buddies volunteer?

Anyone can become a Buddies volunteer. Yes, even you!
All you need to do to get the volunteer ball rolling is one of the following:

1. Come down to our theatre, located at 12 Alexander Street in downtown Toronto and talk to one of the Box Office staff.
2. You can call us at (416) 975-8555 and chat with a Box Office rep who will answer any questions you may have regarding volunteering.
3. Complete the "Volunteer" form found on this page.
4. Finally, you can email us at boxoffice@buddiesinbadtimes.com with any questions you may have about volunteering.

When do volunteer shifts take place?

Whenever there’ s a show at Buddies, volunteers may offer their services. However we encourage you to contact us as soon as possible to book a shift in order to avoid disappointment. Please keep in mind that weekends and opening nights are the first to go.

What's the length of a volunteer shift?

Shifts are usually 4 hours in length - starting one hour prior to show time. Special events and admin/tech volunteer shift times may vary.

What can I wear?

Buddies volunteers are encouraged to dress to their own personal comfort.

Can I volunteer in other areas at Buddies?
